Have you considered how fleas are trained to participate in a flea circus or how elephants are trained for participation in the larger circuses? Apparently, fleas are manipulated with a glass sheet over their enclosure to restrict them jumping. After a while, the fleas think that is the maximum height they can achieve. They will therefore never jump higher than that. Fleas can jump over 80 times their own height. The same with an elephant. They are considered the strongest land animal, as they can carry up to 9,000 kilograms, which in turn equals the approximate weight of 130 adult human beings. Yet, when they are small they have a ring cuffed around their back leg and tied to chain connected to a small peg in the ground. When the elephant grows older, the original chain is connected to the elephant to restrain him/her. In this way, the elephant will not break free as it is accustomed to being restrained.
With these restrictions, the manipulator of the flea and the elephant can use it to their advantage. Both have been restricted to their actual ability. The flea could easily jump and escape and enjoy what it was intended for and the elephant rip the small peg loose with its mighty force. However, their minds have been geared to accept their fate.
Isn’t it exactly the same with many of us? We are restrained by what we were taught as a child or even in the workplace by someone we reported to. Were you ever told that you will never amount to anything or that you told yourself that you are never good enough?
Have you ever tried something for the first time and realised you are good at it? What if you lift the proverbial glass panel and jump to your purpose that you were intended for? If you could shake that “peg” that’s holding you back from your childhood, imagine the strength to take on so much more.
You can’t allow people to scare you. You can’t go your whole life trying to please everyone. You can’t go through life worried about what people are going to think. Whether it’s your hair or clothes, what you have to say, how you feel, what you believe, or what you have, you cannot let the judgement of others stop you from being YOU. Because if you do, you are no longer you. You are someone everyone else wants you to be. Remember always that you’re good enough, exactly as you are right now. But take that leap! I dare you.
JUST BE!! REACH NEW HEIGHTS!!
